From the Airport to Town
...by local train
Every 20 minutes the local
train ("S-Bahn" line S 13) links the airport Cologne with the
city's main train station stopping one time in Cologne-Deutz near the
city's trade fair area "koelnmesse". The trains to
the centre of Cologne start in the new airport railway station
in the basement level of terminal 2. Many signs will show
passengers the way to trains. The ride takes about 15 minutes
to Cologne main station beside the cathedral. The
fare is 2 euros each adult and 1,30 Euros each child. more
...by taxi
If you choose to take a taxi
cap, there are nor- mally enough cars near the exits at the
arrival areas except when many passengers have just been
arrived. You can avoid waiting time by walking upstairs to the
departure level where taxis are waiting for you, too. A trip
to the centre of city costs about 25 Euros. If you come as a
group, you might try to save money by ordering a car for up to
eight persons sharing the taxi fare. more
...by (rental) car
Leaving the airport area,
take the second exit to the A59 direction "Köln".
At junction "Gremberg- hoven" follow the A559 and
the signs to the centre ("Zentrum"). Your special
goal within the city may be signed there as well. The trip
from airport to town lasts about 20 minutes unless there's no
traffic jam to suffer from. more
